How is Facebook working to keep its community safe? Part III

How is FACEBOOK working to keep its community safe? Part III
As a promoter of best practices for main street businesses, I find the recent Congressional Q&A with Mark Zuckerberg to have brought forward an opportunity for the general public to be more knowledgeable and mindful of the practices of all online social channels.

Over the past two weeks I have shared information about the privacy policy as posted by Facebook.
It has been verbatim copy, with easy-to-read formatting to call out the highlights and allow you to see what the details are behind their updated policies.

Here’s this week’s breakout of the Facebook Privacy Policy update.

How will Facebook keep its community safe? Part II

Facebook Community and Privacy

Social Media Sharing
As a promoter of best practices for main street businesses, I find the Congressional Q&A with Mark Zuckerberg, co-founder and current Chairman of Facebook, to have brought forward an opportunity for the general public to be more knowledgeable and mindful of the practices of all online social channels. Facebook and other social platforms are pushing out emails, text messages, and PSA announcements to provide their audiences with the latest privacy policies. In the last week 10 days I have received emails informing me of privacy policy updates from CheapDomain, GoDaddy, Pinterest, Twitter and Facebook.

Frustrated with News Reports That Are NOT Fact Based?

Read on to learn what Facebook’s updated policy will do to reduce the spread of false news (aka “fake news”). Here’s this week’s breakout of the Facebook Privacy Policy update.

Excerpt from Facebook.com - False News

False News
We are committed to reducing the spread of false news on Facebook.

·       We remove fake accounts and disrupt economic incentives for people and Pages that share misinformation.

·       We also use signals, like feedback from our community, to identify stories that may be false.

·       In countries where we work with independent third-party fact-checkers, stories rated as false by those fact-checkers are shown lower in News Feed.

·       If Pages or domains repeatedly create or share misinformation, we significantly reduce their distribution and remove their advertising rights.

·       We're also working to empower people to decide for themselves what to read, trust and share by giving them more context on stories with tools like Related Articles.

Facebook Organic Reach - What's New

4/17/2018

REACH - Organic and Paid and Post

What is Reach? I am reaching up high to the top shelf. Her reach is better than mine and she will control the ball unless I am there first. A giraffe stretches to reach the highest branches. Children reach for the next rung on the jungle gym.

The same term is used to give a name to how we are connecting with the online audience.
  • Organic reach is the number of people who had an unpaid post from your Page enter their screen.
  • Paid reach is the number of people who had a paid post from your Page enter their screen.
  • Post reach is the number of people who had any posts from your Page enter their screen.
If your post reaches someone through both paid and organic distribution, they're counted toward each. Keep in mind that the sum of organic and paid reach won't always equal post reach.

For example, if one person sees your post through both organic and paid distribution, they'll be counted as 1 in organic reach, 1 in paid reach, and 1 in post reach.

Ready to Launch

To make the most of your LIVE session, broadcast the announcement of the intended day, time and topic of your session through email, website blog or prominent page and all social media channels.

During the session, have some prepared statements related to key points of the session and having your laptop nearby, post these key points when you are LIVE.

As viewers join the session, acknowledge their  presence by saying "thanks for joining us Marcus" or "where are you from Judy?"

Throughout the session you can direct people to an online resource to take an action: buy, request more information, download a coupon, take a survey.

After the LIVE Session
