Mobile = Tablet and Smartphone

Here you see the desktop monitor version of a website, and the mobile version of the same website as displayed on a tablet and a smartphone.
In the USA, 94% of people with smartphones search for local information on their phones. Interestingly, 77% of mobile searches occur at home or at work, places where desktop computers are likely to be present.*
The mobile (tablet and smartphone) audience is critical to your business and will continue to be so – whether you’re non-profit or for profit, managing the website for your community events or theater, or selling products and services. The type of business you operate will impact the percentage of your audience that reaches you on mobile devices. Here are some examples based on my clients.
- Daycare - 50%.
- Auto glass and flat glass repair shop - 60%.
- B2B Consulting - 30%.
- Mortgage Lending – 27%.
- Recruiter - 54%.
Create a Mobile Friendly Website
Make sure visitors can have a good experience on your site when they’re visiting from their mobile devices! Mobile friendly websites have larger buttons surrounded by white space for easy selection even for those of us with fat fingers and blurry eyes. Mobile friendly websites also have text that is easy to read, and does not require zooming in or scrolling left to right.
How Do I Check My Website?
Several online resources provide a mobile-friendly checker.These sites simply ask for your website home page address and promptly return with an assessment as shown below for my client, Veterans Radio.
