As we live longer lives in the year 2013 and beyond we need to be mindful of our health each day. If we want our bodies to perform optimally to the end of our days we will need to feed our bodies food full of vitamins and minerals, and iodine and sulphur.
Mike, my husband, and I have been touting green smoothies to all we meet. Our daily diet includes a 12oz glass of blended kale, spinach, carrot, celery, berries and fresh lemon juice. The green smoothies started in January of 2012 when Williams Sonoma sent us a catalog featuring the Vitamix blender and mentioned the movie “Fat Sick and Nearly Dead”. This movie reaches across the ocean to Australia’s Joe Cross who changed his life through diet modification. In Dr. David Servan Schreiber’s book “Anti-Cancer” he details the importance of a nutrient rich diet. I have attended seminars lead by Dr. Brownstein, a wellness doctor from metro Detroit. He too speaks to feeding our body at the cellular level with nutrient rich foods.
Dr. Wahls is featured on this TEDx video and tells her personal story about moving to a “paleo” diet to address MS which has begun to destroy her active lifestyle. The paleo diet feeds the mitochondria at the cellular level. Please watch this fascinating video “Minding your Mitochondria” and share it with your family and friends.

I owe a special Thank You to Amy Brusca and Karen Cameron who sparked this passion in me, and to Mike, head smoothie chef, who prepares good food for me each day.
